ON SITE or ASSISTED BACKUPS

Perth Computer Help want to make sure everyone has their valuable data backed up so that incase of computer failure or a natural disaster those valuable family photos or the important business documents are not lost.

 

Below are a few ways Perth Computer Help can help you with your backup procedures. The recommended procedure is to use at least 1 or 2 of these methods to be completely covered.

 

A note on external hard drive or USB memory stick based backups; leaving your backup device connected all the time leaves it vulnerable to virus or malware attacks so your backup drive is best to not be permanently connected, unless using a system of 2 or more 'rotating' drives. CLIENT BASED

CLOUD BASED

This type of backup is where you are reponsible for your backups. The initial setup is done once with a piece of software on your computer which will run the backup to your desired memory device automatically when that device is connected.

 

Suitable for use with USB memory sticks or external hard drives.

Cloud based backups can be very useful, especially if you want to access your data from multiple computers or devices. The most common ones are DropBox, Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. 

 

These services are also great way to ensure you pictures taken from your mobile phone are automatically backed up.

 

Cloud based backups are not particularly useful if you have 100s of gigabytes of data and where internet connection is not fast and/or reliable.

ONSITE/ASSISTED BACKUPS

In an effort to ensure all my clients are backing up their crucial data I'm offering a service where I can come to you to backup important data, either to your own device or to my storage device(s).

 

This service could be useful for those who do not have any or enough storage capacity for backup, for those that are forgetful to run a backup, or to ensure a backup is kept safely away from the original source of the data for the protection against fire, flood, theft disasters.
